Prof. Minikutty A. is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Education of Mahatma Gandhi University from December 2022. She is also a member of the C.S.S. Academic Advisory Committee of Mahatma Gandhi University. Her areas of specialisation and research interest include Mathematics Education, Research Methodology and Statistics for Education, Special Education, Early childhood Care and Education. She completed her M.Sc. (Mathematics) from the University of Kerala, M.Ed. from the Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Mysore, M.Phil. and PhD from Mahatma Gandhi University. She qualified National Eligibility Test and was awarded Junior Research Fellowship of UGC in 1992. She started her career as a Lecturer in Mathematics Education, Sree Narayana Training College, Nedunganda, Varkala, affiliated to the University of Kerala in June 1994. Later, she joined as Lecturer in the School of Pedagogical Sciences in July 1999. Prof. Minikutty was the Head of the Department of the School of Pedagogical Sciences for about three years from November 2019. She actively supervises one Post-Doctoral Fellow (ICSSR sponsored) and eight Ph.D. Scholars. Eleven Ph.D. and sixteen M.Phil. students have been awarded degrees under her guidance. She had accomplished academic responsibilities as Expert and Member of the Faculty Selection Committees, CAS of teachers in the University and affiliated Colleges, outside the University for Collegiate Education Department, Govt. of Kerala. Her expertise was utilised as Chairperson of Ph.D. Open Defence and Viva-Voce, evaluator of Ph.D. Theses of different Universities inside and outside the State. She also served as a subject expert for Pre-submission Seminars and a Viva Board Member of M.Ed and M.Phil Courses in other Universities. Her research input has been utilised as Co-Investigator in the Project funded by Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) Kerala. Prof. Minikutty has presented papers in over fifty seven International/ National Seminars/ Conferences and shared her scholarship by chairing sessions and giving invited Resource talks. She has published more than fifty articles in different SCPUS indexed/ UGC CARE/ listed/ peer reviewed Journals of repute and contributed chapters in eleven books. She served as a Member of the Board of Studies Education (UG) and (P.G.), Core Committee of M.Ed. Special Education, Expert Committee in Education, and Faculty of Education of Mahatma Gandhi University. During her tenure as HoD, School of Pedagogical Sciences, she was the OBE Curriculum Revision Committee Chairperson and was instrumental in designing OBE Curriculum for M.Ed. and M.Phil. programmes. She is a mentor to many research students, who acknowledge her scholarship and approaches her as a resource person in Research Methodology and Statistics for Education.
