Dr Sibu G. Netto has completed his BSc and MSc in Chemistry and BEd in Physical Science from the University of Kerala. He took MEd securing Second Rank and PhD (Education)from Mahatma Gandhi University. Kottayam. He completed his MBA ( HR and Marketing) from the University of Kerala and obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Distance Education and a Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and a SWAYAM Certificate in Communication Technologies in Education from the University of Mumbai. Dr Netto began his career as a Guest Lecturer inMarthoma Teachers Training College, Edakulam, Ranny. He joined Avila College of Education, Edakochi, Ernakulam, in June 2003 as Lecturer in Physical Science and served there till February 2008. Joined the MEd Department of Mar Severios College of Teacher Education, Chengaroor, in March 2008 and relieved from there to join as Principal, BadhiriyaBEd Training College. Velichikkala. Kollamand worked there till May 2011. Dr Netto was appointed Assistant Director of the Distance Education Council (DEC). Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, in May 2011 and served there till April 2013: upon dissolution of DEC, he rendered his service as Assistant Director on Deemed Deputation to the Distance Education Bureau (DEB), University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi during May 2013 to February 2015. While working at DEC and DEB, the apex bodies for Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Higher Education in the country, he gained wide-ranging experience in various aspects of University Management and Academic Administration. After repatriation, he got posted as Assistant Director. Planning and Development Division (P & DD). IGNOU. New Delhi. He was appointed Assistant Regional Director of IGNOU Regional Centre Trivandrum, in July 2015 and looked after matters regarding admission, material distribution, examination, administration, and academic and promotional activities of the RC till August 2019.
Dr Netto has participated in several National and International Seminars/ Conferences and faculty enrichment programmes/ courses. He has authored/ co-authored four books and published eight articles in different SCOPUS indexed/UGC CARE/listed/ peer reviewed journals. He also extends his expertise as a peer reviewer and editor for journals and newsletters and as a resource person for several programmes in the field of education.
